Dear God, Please move me to a place where nobody wants to be. I love you.
Dear You, You got it. I love you, too.

Why me?
I started this website for my own sanity after listening to the June 4, 2025, City Commission meeting on YouTube. Not in the Springfield, Ohio, chaos of Fall of 2024, when one might think.
I blame You Tube. A Springfield City Commission meeting showed up in my feed. I didn't ask for it, but I clicked on it. This was in June. The citizen speakers were given 90 seconds to air their grievances to the commissioners, who were seated in elevated boxes. (They like to say that's a visibility thing - you know, it's all for US - but it's designed to look down on the subjects who work for them.)
The bylaw requires that they have a meeting every 14 days. I haven't seen one yet where they were all in attendance, and I've only seen one where the Mayor and City Manager were there.
They start each meeting saying that they'll answer questions and address concerns at the end, but they don't.
The only time that did happen was after the geese and cat accounts went viral, and after listening to the citizens talk about the driving, the language barrier, City Manager Brian Heck said, "Let's get them more resources!" Within 24 hours, Gov DeWine sent 2.5 million to the city (and earmarked them for two new urgent care locations specifically for the Haitians). He sent troopers and then called in bomb threats to make it look even more like we citizens were just liars. And dangerous. Then the Mayor granted himself some sort of "emergency powers" when Trump announced he was scheduling a visit.
When the contractors finished in February, and the movers had delivered my things, I made two shopping lists - food at the grocery store, and staples at the Walmart.
So, on Walmart day, I got my cart at the front of the store and immediately noticed a group of about 15-20 dark-skinned men in the produce section. They were carrying knives and machetes and cutting up fruits and vegetables and eating them. I had never seen anything like this, so I guess I stared a little too long. One of the men then motioned his machete at me.
I left my cart and ran out of the store. In full disclosure, it was my chubby 60+-year-old version of running.
And then I sat in my locked car and cried. (It was winter, so nobody was just "hanging out" in the parking lot that day.)
I knew nobody here, so there was nobody to talk to about this. I was on my own. Maybe this was just a fluke, anyway.
Not ever going back to the Walmart, I decided to try the Big Lots. When you move, you get umpteen coupons and I had FOUR for Big Lots. And still didn't have the staples I needed. (See Walmart machetes post.)
(I now know there are "territories" here.)
So I went to Big Lots. I pushed my cart around and there was an extended family of again very-dark-skinned people in the store with me. The only other people there. In the house cleaning supply aisle, two men appeared and just stood at one end of the aisle. Then, another two men appeared and stood at the other end. They just stood there. I didn't know what to do, so I just kept pretending to read a label on something. I put something in my cart and headed toward one end and they moved out of the way.
I still don't have an explanation for this, but apparently, I'm not alone. This happens. Younger women are stalked and followed and even worse in public and in stores.
After this, I decided to try Meijer. Frankly, I had forgotten about Meijer. I'd lived in Indy for 15 years and forgotten?!? The mind is a funny thing when you age, I guess.
But this is when I realized these people were here and they were aggressive and mean.
Then, the Home Depot. Followed me, staring at me. I'm lilly white, chubby, and old. Is that why? Don't want to and shouldn't have to try to figure them out. Not only that, they're obviously dangerous.
