Bryan Heck Doesn't Like that You All Keep Asking for Data

The City Manager keeps saying that he doesn't understand why anybody needs data. And Mayor Rob Rue is sick and tired of all the questions that make it sound like the data they don't have can't be trusted.

The Don Now Has a Vendetta

City Manager Bryan Heck says our offices don't do that, we don't collect data on that, I'll have so-and-so look into that and let me know and I'll let you know, I'll have Logan Cobbs talk about that, it's all from the public safety fund. Or sometimes, I don't know/I'm not sure. And Rob Rue is sick and tired of all the questions that make it sound like the data they don't have can't be trusted.

The picture above has a copyright statement on it, so I left it to give credit. But Mr. Gwinn may tell me to take it down, which I will. It was just such a perfect depiction.

After a months-long search...it's always after a months-long search.

2019: Appointed City Manager (by Mayor Copeland (1998-2024))

2019 in perpetuity: City Manager

It takes 3 commissioners to fire the City Manager. But when the City Manager is in charge of/selects/lets the Clark County Board of Elections who to "allow" to run, he ensures that he won't be fired. And those he selects would never vote to fire him.

According to the Dayton Daily news article, Heck doubled the payroll of those making over $100K from 42 in 2022 to 83 2023. This is an annual reporting project put out by the Springfield News-Sun and Dayton Daily News every year. They maintain a searchable database by year by name or agency: https://www.daytondailynews.com/data/news/payroll-project/

In 2025, Heck started doing a Word with the City Manager "podcast" that I assume Karen Graves, the Communications Director, posts to Facebook and YouTube. Add the number of interactions on each platform, and you'll have less than 50, 48 of whom work for him or are on the City Commission.

How disgusting. This town is HYOOGE on giving each other awards. All made up. All theater. All meaningless. And Logan Cobbs is first to comment - she has nothing else to do, after all. The 52 likes and 6 comments were all on the receiving end of taxpayers' money.
