Leadership Clark County: Another Eighth Circle of Hell

The eighth circle of Hell, called Malebolge ("Evil Ditches"), is dedicated to fraud and is divided into ten concentric ditches, each punishing a specific type of fraud with a unique, often ironic, torture known as contrapasso. These ditches house sinners such as seducers, flatterers, simoniacs, sorcerers, corrupt politicians, hypocrites, thieves, fraudulent counselors, sowers of discord, and falsifiers, who face punishments like being whipped, forced to wear lead-lined cloaks, or consumed by flames.

The Eighth Circle of Hell: The Deceitful

"The largest and most complicated of the nine circles of hell, circle number eight is reserved for all the nasty, nasty liars of the world, and it is easily the worst of the bunch. To get thrown in this particular circle you have to have committed one of the following sins: fraud, hypocrisy, simony, thievery, plagiarism, being a pimp, being a politician, or enjoying astrology a bit too much. You get the feeling that about 80% through writing Inferno Dante realized there are actually way more than nine types of sin, so he just sort of… lumped all the leftover sins he hadn’t covered into this circle and called it a day." From Cause IQ: Leadership of Clark County is a Leadership development program that encourages diverse individuals to assume leadership roles and contribute to community service in Clark County, OH.

Funding Sources: The Springfield Foundation and GoFundMe donations
Total revenue = 90K
Expenses = 93K
Employees = 5
Board members = 16 (LOL) including Chris Wallace, Adam Lipp (City Treasurer hired in 2022 at $83K in 2023, Chris Moore (from 2019-2023, in the same job as City Service Director, his salary went from $115, 913 to $163,108, an increase of $57,915).
Note: This is the most ridiculous circle jerk of them all. Not the most money, but the most obvious. So let's use Karen Graves as an example. She's hired by Heck as Diversity Manager in 2023 at $93K. January 2024, he enrolled her in Leadership Clark County and promoted her to Communications Director, so he could give her an exponential raise (2024 data pending public record request). He does this with everyone - Logan Cobbs, Chris Moore, Adam Lipp, etc. So, the City pays the $3-$4K tuition to a nonprofit also paid for by the City and County. Round and round goes the washing machine...
