The 2025 Springfield Micro-Transit Disaster

Springfield City Manager decided to do away with the SCAT bus system and replace it with a micro-transit system (for the federal money). Hired a private company out of nowhere and citizens are now being driven around by the Haitians who hate them and still can't drive.

IS the WOTC credit still out there for TPS hires? Is that why they hired mostly Haitian drivers?

They fired the SCAT bus drivers!!!

What This is and Why?

Current Status

As of June 20th meeting,

What about the bus drivers?
I asked AI and it even knew how wretched this was:

Following the termination of Springfield's SCAT bus system in July 2025, drivers' jobs were eliminated. The city replaced the fixed-route bus service with an on-demand micro-transit system called "Field Trips," which uses smaller vehicles and is operated by a different contractor.

Key details about the transition:

  • System Replacement: The city of Springfield opted to end its public bus service, run by SCAT, after determining it was no longer the most efficient option for the community.

  • Micro-Transit System: The new "Field Trips" service operates more like a rideshare program, with passengers booking trips via an app, website, or phone.

  • Driver Concerns: SCAT drivers were left uncertain about their employment status, with many voicing concerns over a lack of communication from the city. Some drivers reportedly left before the service ended because of this uncertainty.

  • Contractual Changes: SCAT drivers had a contract with the city that was set to last through August 2026 but was not honored. The contract for the new micro-transit system was awarded to a different company

The Timeline, aka Yet Another Masterclass in Incompetent Project Management

In September 2023, the "looking into" SCAT improvements were referred to as the Haitian Public Transportation Project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZeYJPMkIPw&t=200s

The City Commission has postponed the separated Haitian Transportation Project and On-Demand Transit Project (read May 2nd post for history) pending further review.

My opinion: The Commission's new 2025 motto is Forward Together, but they just keep supporting the 1960s, segregation, and trafficking. Their inclusion posturing has been and continues to be the hoax, not the cats and ducks and violence and no money for anything non-Haitian reality.

PUBLIC MEETING POSTPONED

The public meeting scheduled for Monday, May 5 to introduce Springfield’s new public transportation system has been postponed.

While we’re excited to launch the City’s new on-demand transit service, we’re still finalizing key contract details and want to ensure we're fully prepared to engage with the community and share the most accurate information possible.

A new meeting date will be announced soon.

We appreciate your patience and look forward to providing a meaningful opportunity for input before the service officially launches.

n the April 22, 2025, City Commission Meeting, the headliner was Via Transportation discussing the implementation of the on-demand micro-transit system coming in June/July 2025.

The Micro Transit project that's been going on for 5 years.

Which is really just a Haitian bussing project now. Human trafficking in this town never ends. A year ago, the project was called "Haitian Public Transportation Project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZeYJPMkIPw&t=199s

The change in workforce has required a change in the project's needs over time.

Via Transportation partner and will operate the system A DEI hire: https://ridewithvia.com/about

Map of routes. Implemented by July.

Includes a mini-van to pick up individuals. What could go wrong?

Drivers hired from community as representative of the city.

5-year contract.

$4 fare.

Commissioner Brown asked if there is an intentional search for bi-lingual drivers. They'll look into it.

Commissioner Estrop asked if businesses be able to provide this for all my employees? Free transport to and from work. Absolutely, able to support. We'll be engaging with local businesses. He can hardly wait 'til July.

To summarize, the City Geniuses are eliminating Springfield City Area Transit (SCAT) bus routes and replacing them with a "Micro Transit", a mini-van ride-sharing app that can pick up small groups or individuals for on-demand and specific rides.

Commissioner Estrop mentioned that improvements to the bus system has been in the works for years and he was literally gleeful that it's finally coming to fruition in this way. He foresees it as a big help to employers getting employees to work on time. (He couldn't have been much clearer about the system's intent.)

The Springfield Sun article specifically says, "Services will be multilingual with emphases on English, Spanish and Haitian Creole", but Commissioner Brown asked the question of Via in the April 22nd meeting and they said they'd have to look into it.

My personal thoughts are: What could go wrong? And that Bryan Heck's town mafia role is forever bought and paid for, and why is he still employed? And that the bus system isn't going away - it's just repurposed specifically to bus Haitians separately from citizens.

Welcome to the 1960s, Springfield! That inclusion hoax is really going well.

What's the company? Where are they? How is it run? Anyone here? Via still involved? The cars at the garage - wrecks, etc. No comments are allowed about this. Because it's no longer the city's job. "We don't have info on that - you'll have to contact Field Trips. They're a private company."

Posted on the City of Springfield Facebook page! That should reach the most affected. Neither a workshop nor a vehicle for information. They have no idea what they're doing, but it's coming, regardless. And no comments allowed! DURING WORK HOURS and NO COMMENTS ALLOWED. Does anyone need to know any more?

So, this is designed to reach as few people as possible. The most affected are the ADA and elderly. Think they're going to be able to attend this "informational workshop"?

I keep saying it, and they keep topping themselves: Just when you think the Syndicate can't get any more disgusting.
