Mike McDorman and His Personal Springfield Incubator

Mike McDorman has been in the Chamber of Commerce (now Greater Springfield Partnership, because "you can't contain me") business since 2006.. He IS the Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Department.

"A body of men holding themselves accountable to nobody ought not to be trusted by anybody".

He looks okay, right?!

According to the Interwebs, he has a net worth of $1.49 million.

This is Mike McDorman. I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure he's the one in charge of Heck. Definitely running Heck's Econ Development department.

He's been in the Chamber of Commerce (now Greater Springfield Partnership, because "you can't contain me") business since 2006.

I have so many questions. My father was a very active member of the Chamber of Commerce in the '70s and '80s. He always had a job, though. Nobody ever made a bajillion dollars from a Chamber of Commerce job. Clearly other things are going on in Springfield. It's probably universal now. I was raised in a different world and I thank God. If corruption happened, it was hidden, as God intended. Here, they just flaunt it. I mean, even the Clark County Health Department (CCHD) is insanely profitable.

So I'm just asking how something like Mike McDorman happens I believe this is a summary, but I'm still working on it. More importantly, with all this work and all this effort and all this incoming money hand over fist in grants and programs and federal and state what-nots, and backroom, cigar bar deals, why is Springfield such an absolute cesspool in 2025?

I can't even drive to the store without wanting to cry. Why are we still "distressed"?? (Heck is now outsourcing the city's work to third party companies and contracts specifically marketing themselves as helping distressed" communities). Shouldn't we be well beyond distressed? Shouldn't our streets be paved with gold by now??

In 2006, at age 36, he quit his job as Area Manager at Ohio Edison to get in the "nonprofit" game (a lot more money to be had in this sector) and started work at the Chamber of Commerce (so big they couldn't contain it in one entity, so it's morphed into the Greater Springfield Partnership and includes the CIC and the Visitors Bureau**).

President & CEO at Greater Springfield Partnership (formerly called the Chamber of Commerce
President & CEO at Clark County and the Greater Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau
President and Secretary at the Community Improvement Corporation of Springfield-Clark County (CIC)

Past and Present other Jobs:
Board of Trustees at Clark College
Chairman of United Way of Clark, Champaign and Madison counties
Chairman of Junior Achievement
Board of Directors of the Springfield Ohio Port Authority
Board of Directors at the Clark County Convention Facility Authority
Board of Directors at the Greater Ohio Policy Center

HIs Nonprofits:
Springforward (financed by the Springfield Foundation and others to vitalize downtown - operates at a significant loss for him)

In 2024, the CIC had revenue of $1.4 million, expenses of $1.7 million, and assets of $6.9 million.
In 2023, the Chamber of Commerce had revenue of $1.9 million, expenses of $1.9 million (how convenient), and assets of $720K.
In 2024 the Greater Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau had revenue of $962K, expenses of $903K, and assets of $628K.

So I guess to know the totals, you'd add all three above to come up with a grand total for the Greater Springfield Partnership? Or do they collect money on their own behalf, too?

If adding the CIC, Chamber, and Bureau together: In 2023/24, the Greater Springfield Partnership had revenue of $4.2 million , expenses of $4.5 million (Ooo! A loss is always the goal), and assets of $8.2 million.

In 2022, he sold his 4300 square-foot country club house on 1.65 acres for $620K.

In 2021, he inherited a house in Victorian Village. Update: He just listed it on October 13, 2025 (yesterday, as I type this) for $235K.

In 2024, he bought another house for $495K and sold it in July 2025 for $535K.

In June 2025, he purchased his new 4-bedroom, 1.1-acre home on the lake in South Vienna about 20 minutes toward Columbus for $710K.

It never fails, they either destroy and leave, or destroy from another town completely.

**For the past 15 years, the Greater Springfield Partnership (GSP), a nonprofit, membership-based economic development organization representing over 800 businesses, has been stewarding housing development in the City of Springfield through a Community Improvement Corporation.

In 1970, the city of Springfield and Clark Co. created the Community Improvement Corporation of Springfield and Clark County (“CIC”), a quasi-governmental nonprofit corporation. The Chamber of Commerce, which has been consolidated into the GSP, has been the longtime contracted administrator of the CIC. Traditionally used for economic development, CICs can also take on other market-strengthening roles by assisting the administration of economic development programs and initiatives.

McDorman and George Ten, of course

McDorman knows this is HIS town to do with whatever he wants. Just like George Ten runs HIS "Springfieldopoly" game. They are the same. https://springfieldohiosyndicate.com/first-diversity-staffing

It's a long read, but a stellar one from the Jewish Journal. It was s human trafficking scheme and they all profited.
